North American Stainless - Ghent, KY

The largest stainless steel manufacturer in the US with over 2500 employees on site.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST June 2022 to October 2024

  • Responsible for Quality Assurance Testing of new .NET applications and changes that were implemented across 30 applications.

  • Wrote test scripts for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinated with users on the completion and results from UAT.

  • Attended Sprint Planning meetings and Daily Stand-Up meetings with the development team and managed the minutes for the meetings.

  • Collaborated with end users to gather requirements, document them for development, and implement several systems in EHS Insight including CAPA, Document Libraries, Incident Events, Hazards and Risk Assessments, Safety Meetings, and Audit and Inspection.

  • Developed process flow diagrams for new systems implemented in EHS.

  • Worked with subject matter experts to document requirements to help develop and implement a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) in Oracle, JD Edwards E1.

  • Assisted with project and task management for Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) project in a waterfall setting.

PLANNING ENGINEER March 2017 to June 2022

  • Gathered requirements and documented them for IT for a new reporting tool.

  • Developed and automated new reporting and planning tools using a combination of SQL Server Management Studio, AS400 Query, MS Excel, and MS Access.

    • Accomplished by linking AS400 queries to MS Excel and MS Access and sorting data through Pivot Tables and MS Access queries.

    • Used SQL Queries in MS excel to pull direct links to data and filter on the front end of the analysis.

  • Used a variety of tools to prepare both annual and monthly production plans.

  • Attended departmental meetings with upper management to report on Planning KPIs and provide data to support root causes and discuss corrective action plans.

  • Checked orders and inventory to report product Lead Times to Sales Team.

  • Improved planning tools used to predict material flow and estimate product capacity based off of order mix, operational productivity, inventory, and yield rates and updated models as needed when processes changed.

    • Used a series of nested IFs, VLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables to filter through and analyze data to make this happen.

IMPACT BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST June 2016 to January 2017

  • Performed data analysis from the ERP and provided recommendations to reduce material waste as well as decrease labor costs through set up times.

    • Accomplished through pulling reports from the ERP in to Excel and filtering through nested IFs to analyze.

  • Planned and coordinated all facility Kaizen activity and worked to assure sustainability of new process implementation.

    • Waste Reduction Kaizen Event led to 15% improvement resulting in $45,000 monthly savings.

    • Customer Product Returns Kaizen Event led to a 95% improvement resulting in $11,000 monthly savings.

    • Ink Correlation Kaizen Event led to 30% improvement resulting in $2,000 monthly savings.

  • Maintained facility Action Plan to assure improvement projects were staying on task as planned.

  • Discovered and closed gaps in traceability through temporary processes be ERP updates were made.

  • Performed Root Cause Investigations from customer complaints and provided Corrective and Preventative Actions responses.

Advantage Metals Recycling - Kansas City, MO Area

Scrap metal recycling company under the David J Joseph umbrella, a Nucor company.

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT TRAINEE July 2014 to November 2015

  • Performed an analysis on truck loading procedures and provided recommendations to reduce load time by implementing Kaizen philosophy.

  • Complied large amounts of data from internal reporting systems into MS Excel for data analysis to drive process improvement.

  • Attended a company wide Safety School to learn company safety policies and procedures, how they compare to OSHA regulations, and how we as Supervisors could improve and implement safety programs at our locations.
